Terms and conditions of Service

When hiring Affordable Movers Brisbane, the following terms and conditions apply:

1.  Ownership of the goods

By Replying "YES" to the Booking confirmation that was sent to you agree to these terms and conditions and you are entering into this agreement, you guarantee that:

  • the goods to be removed are your own property, or the goods are your property free of any legal charge; or

  • you have the full authority of the owner or anyone having a legal interest in them to enter into this agreement and you have made the owner fully aware of these terms and conditions prior to entering into this agreement and that they have agreed to

2. CHARGES AND PAYMENTS

ALL PAYMENTS ARE DUE AT THE REQUEST OF AFFORDABLE MOVERS BRISBANE 2.1

Affordable Movers Brisbane may request payment for services at any time during or before the job commences.  All jobs are billed in half-hourly increments, from the time the Contractor arrives at the pickup location until all goods are unloaded at the final drop-off location.  All trucks are 4 Tonne and 18m3.  Any claims of damage are separate from the bill itself and must be reported to Affordable movers Brisbane head office before the contractors leave the customer’s premises. The job is not completed until it is paid for in full, any delay in payment will result in the job continuing at the normal rate of payment. If the Customer is not at the pickup and/or drop-off when the Contractor arrives, the Customer will continue to be billed for the job until they arrive.

3.  Charges if you postpone or cancel the removal

If you postpone or cancel this agreement, we reserve the right to charge you a reasonable postponement or cancellation fee according to how much notice is given as set out below. “Working days” refer to the normal working week of Monday to Friday and excludes weekends and Public Holidays. 

  • More than 14 working days before the removal due to start: No

  • Between 2 and 6 working days inclusive before the removal was due to start: not more than 50% of the removal charge.

  • Less than 2 working days before the removal was due to start: not more than 75% of the removal

  • On the day the work starts or at any time after the work commences up to 100% of our charges. 

  • Deposit is non-refundable at all times.

4.  Lien

 

“Lien” is the legal right of the remover to hold goods until the customer has paid all outstanding charges. We shall have a right to withhold and ultimately dispose of some or all of the goods if you fail to pay the charges and any other payments due under this or any other agreement. These include any charges that we have paid out on your behalf. While we hold the goods, you will be liable to pay all storage charges and other costs (including legal costs) reasonably incurred by us in recovering our charges and applying Our right of lien. These terms and conditions shall continue to apply.

5. ROUTE OF TRANSPORT 

 

The Contractor is entitled to transport the goods by any reasonable route (having regarded all circumstances including the nature and destination of any other goods being carried on the vehicle) and by any reasonable means.

6. RIGHT TO ASSIGN 

 

The Customer agrees to these terms and conditions when booking with the Contractor.  In replying YES to the confirmation text message, the customer has read these terms and conditions and accepts that they are booking their move accepting these terms and conditions. This means before, during and after their move is concluded. Any Customer who does not agree to these terms and conditions should not book this service provided by the Contractor.

7. CLAIMS

 

Must Report any Damage before completion. As the existing condition of the Goods are subject to a verbal agreement, You must inspect all the Goods as they are unloaded and/or relocated and any damage considered to have been caused by Us must be listed on the front of this document. No claims will be accepted for any damage discovered after We have left the move

- Pot Plants, Glass, TVs, Washing machine & fridges are not insured at all through Affordable movers brisbane because we can not determine if they working beforehand.

8. Excess.

 

Affordable Movers Brisbane provides the Customer with Public Liability and Transit Insurance on their behalf at no charge. If the Customer wishes to claim on this insurance, the Customer will pay the excess of $500.00 depending on the move to lodge the claim.
